It’s Bradley Farquhar’s mission to inspire the next generation of adventurers. The thought of starting a new business, going on epic adventures or taking on physical challenges can become overwhelming pretty fast. It’s my passion to demonstrate that you don’t have to be a Harvard business grad, professional or Olympic athlete to crush outlandish goals.
Having spoken hundreds of times at conferences, businesses, and educational facilities my talks can be tailored for any audience, from grade school to grandparents, from students to professionals. I have three primary subjects:
How an average dude can kick some butt - There doesn’t need to be anything special about you to accomplish special things, you just have to want it.
Not listening to negative people - You are going to run into people all your life that tell you, you can’t do something. If you start listening to those people, you will become one.
Setting your goals high - so high, you will learn how high.
I can’t help but get excited about how great life can be when you’re chasing goals. Goal setting whether it’s for work or adventures has literally taken over my life. My career started when I was recruited out of St. Marys University to sell alarm systems door to door in California. Being paid 100% commission I knew it was going to be tough, however I had no idea how much it was going to change my life. In the years to come I traveled the world taking on some of the worlds biggest challenges all while starting a successful business in the United States which I sold after five years of growing it across the country. But I’m not surprised by any of this because I’ve seen it all coming, I’ve been working towards my goals since I was a kid. Growing up I was outside all the time, played all the sports in school, and did anything to earn a buck. I also got lucky, and had some pretty cool teachers and parents that fostered my adventurousness spirit. Now I have the opportunity to inspire the next generation to create, dream, and explore.
In 2011 I was convinced to run my first marathon by a friend without knowing at the time the race was only five days away. Completing this challenge set me on a path to climb mountains in Alaska, swim 15 hours across the English Channel, run with the bulls in Spain and endure countless marathons and ultra marathons around the world. Since that fateful day running my first marathon, I’ve pushed my body way past the point of feeling pain and enjoyed every minute of it.
Most recently I traveled 1,000 miles with a dog team across Alaska in a race called the #Iditarod. This race pushed me to my breaking point and had me in the middle of the Alaskan tundra in tears questioning how I could go any farther. This story along with many others are shared to inspire all ages to always set their goals high even if you’re an average dude like me.
